Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the most widely used scientific approach for enhancing socialization and encouraging learning.
Backed by over 30 years of research findings, as well as our own in-depth experience, the principles of ABA provide the core philosophy and practical approaches that have improved countless outcomes. While the course will confirm some things you already know, the specifics of ABA must be learned to provide the kind of consistent intensive interventions needed to affect real growth and real change as quickly and efficiently as possible.

ABA-based interventions are most effective when they are applied no less than 20 hours over a week across all natural environments. To achieve that sort of comprehensive implementation requires the active participation of all those who have or are assigned responsibility for the client. This course will help everyone be on the same page when applying the gentle methods based on ABA.

Once learned, the principles of ABA will inform every interaction you have with your child, spouse, student, or client. It will help with basic teaching as well as situations where major behavioral changes are needed.

Training in ABA will help you define and expand your role and encourage you to approach the teaching of both life and academic skills with greater confidence.

The Butterfly Effects BIB Certification Course will help parents and other caregivers:
  • Improve the way you communicate
  • Become more effective life skill teachers and academic tutors
  • Understand why encouragement and positive reinforcement provide the most effective approach
  • How and when to use punishment
  • Become more effective contributors to IEPs and other intervention plans

It will help paraprofessionals, teachers, and students:
  • Meet continuing education requirements
  • Expand their range of services
  • Be more effective in their jobs
  • Learn how to better understand and develop intervention strategies

Among other topics, the BIB course:
  • Fully explains the ABA treatment model
  • Shows how to develop verbal behavior skills
