Coming from an education standpoint, and currently teaching independent living skills in a behavior managment school, part of my curriculum involves addressing the skills necessary for successful employment. We start by "grading" everything that is done in the classroom setting as if it were a job and having regularly scheduled "evaluations". Next, comes "work" experience within the walls of the building whether it is clerical, janitorial, tutoring, etc and of course evaluation by the supervisor involved. The next step is volunteering in the community and then assistance in placement in whatever form of employmnet or employment training that individual needs. Generalization is always the goal and the mindset should be "In the real world............
