Anger Management Strategies for kids with Aspergers

I have been having a hard time controlling my son who was diagnosed with aspergers. He has a nasty anger streak in him sometimes, and it has just become so difficult dealing with it in a constructive way. He doesn't take 'no' for an answer and sometimes becomes aggressive if he doesn't get his way. Do you have any suggestions? What is the best way to handle this?

WE are having the same problem with our son. Anytime we tell him no he completely flipps out and destroy's the house. I'm curious as to how to handle him when he gets in these streaks too. I just don't know how to discipline him anymore either.

You may want to try using a prevention strategy such as offering choices instead of stating "No", such as "you can't have the cookie, but you can have an apple or a yogurt, which one would you like?" Keep in mind that once you have said "no" it should remain "no". Giving in once the behavior escalates will make the behavior more likely to occur in the future. Try to have a safe place where you can go with him where there are no opportunities to injure himself or others when he does escalate the behavior.
