Autism Awareness has Truly Increased

I just wanted to share that I am so thrilled to see the awareness for autism in the past few months. When starting in this field 8 years ago, I found myself constantly explaining what autism was and having to tell people how different it was than what they thought.  I am finding now that the questions I get are more educated questions and people are truly understanding the spectrum and how different each child is.  I think a lot goes to Autism Speaks and the way they have gotten the media involved.  Seeing Puzzle Pieces on cars, television shows, sporting events and new broadcasts helps to keep Autism fresh in people's minds.  Let's continue to do all we can to continue to educate those around us.
