How To Get Your Teen To Study: Host A Study Party

Updated on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 |

Tired of your teen cramming last minute for an exam because he failed to plan ahead to study…

Our Expert Tip:

Try a Study Party!  Get involved by helping your teen plan a study schedule for the next round of exams. If your teen sticks to his study plan in the weeks before the test, offer to host a “study party” a few days before the exam.  Break the party into competing teams and test them on their knowledge. You could get creative and incorporate the material into a game of charades or Pictionary.  Once all the material has been covered, reward both teams with pizza!  As long as your teen is benefiting from the study parties, continue to encourage them.  Other parents will become envious when your house becomes the place to be for its “Cool Study Parties!”
