Social Story for Saying "Excuse Me"

Parents talk to a lot of people on the phone.
Parents talk to each other, and people they work with on the phone.
They talk on the phone at home, at the office, and in thier car.
Sometimes when Mommy and Daddy are talking to other people on the phone I want to talk to them to.
I can say “Excuse me!” to see if Mommy and Daddy can talk to me.
When children say "excuse me" this make their parents happy.
Sometimes Mommy and Daddy will answer me right away.
Other times Mommy and Daddy are talking about something very important on the phone.
When they are talking about something important on the phone they cannot answer me right away.
If I say “Excuse me” and they don’t answer, I can wait until they are done talking on the phone.
When children wait, this make parents very happy.
Big boys wait until people are finished talking on phone.
I am going to try to be very polite when Mommy and Daddy are talking on the phone.

The term Social Story is trademarked by Carol Grey.
