A friend sent this to me....

"I always enjoy reading articles about ADD and autism from you. I enjoyed the part your wrote about gluten and the relationship of dairy and gluten to autism. I've recently found out I have two copies of the gene that causes gluten sensitivity. For the last few years, I've studied the possible effects of gluten in the diet. Most periodicals and journals I read always mention the autism connection. I am very interested in finding out about the damage that gluten can cause in susceptible children and adults. I truly believe that gluten played a horrible trick on my nervous system and caused peripheral neuropathy. I can only imagine what havoc it causes on susceptible small infants and children. Perhaps, even the pregnant woman who has an unknown gluten sensitivity can cause a fetus to suffer from the effects of gluten, causing many types of brain dysfunction. I have a very detailed article about the autism/brain/gut. I will try to get it into the mail for you as my computer probably couldn't scan the small print. I also found a place in Dallas, TX that does a fecal test for gluten. Apparently, this test is more sensitive than (and less invasive) than the typical colon biopsy one must undergo to determine Celiac's disease. It can show antibodies to gluten before the damage to the villi occurs and before a blood test shows the antibodies."

Can you please tell me specifically where we can do to get this test done? I know it may be a little late in our son's development to look at his diet, but I would be very interested to see the results of this test on him. We are based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Any info would be appreciated.
