Bio Balance Program
The incidence of childhood developmental disabilities is dramatically on the rise. The diagnoses of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) have increased by over 700% in the past two decades and ADHD has increased by 400% over the same twenty years.1 While genetic factors may place certain children at increased risk, this does not solely explain the alarming increase with such widespread population impact.
There appears to be many factors that may contribute to these disorders, including environment factors. Potential environmental triggers for the conditions may include allergens and toxic substances in the home, foods contaminated with pesticides, herbicides, antibiotics, and hormones. 2 While the diagnoses are currently behaviorally based, there is strong scientific evidence that an underlying biomedical disorder exists. Biological treatment is aimed at the reduction and/or elimination of environmental factors to optimize your child's health and ability to learn.
The Butterfly Effects Bio Balance Program offers information concerning a variety of life style recommendations that serve as natural remedies. We utilize a logical step-by-step approach to remove environmental toxins, allergens, and food intolerances from your child's environment and diet. After identification of possible toxic triggers, our program strives to restore and promote the natural balance between your child and their environment. In the final stages of the Program, optimal health is sought as essential vitamins and vital supplements will be suggested to maintain health. Comprehensive and individualized Interventions will be created by a Developmental/Behavioral Pediatrician to provide with you with step-by-step directions to address your concerns and measure your child's progress.

Bio Balance Program Service Description
Currently, there are no standard medical protocols for the treatment of developmental disabilities. Our Bio Balance Program is based on sound and increasingly well supported evidence that many of the behavioral concerns may be symptomatic of an underlying biomedical etiology.
Bio Balance is designed to be individualized and information based. This service provides an educational program specifically tailored to your child's unique needs. Under the guidance of your child's physician and treatment team, application of the Program's recommendations should promote a healthy environment to maximize your child's growth and development. The Bio Balance Program™ is a multidisciplinary evaluation and treatment program for families who want to use the best available practices in diet, nutrition and supplements shown to be effective in the treatment of children and adolescents with developmental and behavioral disorders.
Each evaluation begins with an extensive and detailed comprehensive intake of the child’s past medical history, family history, diet and nutrition, environmental analysis, review of systems, and a behavioral baseline collected in your home by a member of the Butterfly Effects Team. The intake will then be reviewed in an in person visit with one of our developmental-behavioral physician specialists to complete a comprehensive assessment which includes: physical examination, neurological assessment, laboratory evaluations, and in depth parent education and counseling. Recommended interventions will then be developed, monitored, and continuously reassessed and modified by your child’s treatment team. All programs are individualized and include the use of an extensive web based information library, and parent support network.
As each child is unique, recommendations will be tailored to the individual, and results may be variable. Follow-up consultations, for ongoing and changing concerns, are available.
