Autism Programs

The label of Autism means very little by itself. How any child develops, interacts, and makes his or her way in the world is never a simple business. What levels of maturity and success he or she achieves is dependent on many factors including genetics, education, family, and opportunity. The same is just as true for a child with Autism.

At Butterfly Effects, we do understand that receiving an Autism diagnosis can terrify and even paralyze the most well-intentioned parents.

No matter the initial diagnosis, no two children exhibit identical symptoms or levels of severity.
The future for a child with Autism is partially dependent on the complexity and pervasiveness of the condition, but it is just as dependent on accurate assessment, the love with which he or she is surrounded, and the accuracy, timeliness, and intensity that define any intervention.

You needn't wait for an official diagnosis to be eligible for services.
We encourage any parent to contact us if a child's doctor or psychologist has diagnosed your child with Autism. However, even if you are merely suspicious, contact us immediately.

According to the Disabilities Education Act, children under the age of 36 months evidencing risk may be eligible for early intervention services. (CDC, 2010). No matter what anyone may tell you, wait and see is never the right choice.

At Butterfly Effects, our extensive network of clinicians, therapists, educators, and support personal can provide all the services and support that your child and family will need from the time your child is born right up through school and his or her transition into the world at large.

Our ability to deliver comprehensive and seamless services means that we never pass the buck.
From the time your child becomes a client with Butterfly Effects, we will create a comprehensive plan that covers every facet of the child's development.

Evaluation and Assessment
Our team includes many psychologists, medical doctors, and certified clinicians who employ the very latest evaluation methods. We test for cognitive and language development, as well as sensory integration, processing issues, and social skill development. We also test for vision and hearing problems. Understanding that the presentation of Autism can radically change up until the age of five and even beyond, we will continue to reassess your child to make certain the services he or she receives are targeted and effective.

Early Intervention Services
We have special programs to resolve feeding and sleeping issues. We also work to improve behavioral, cognitive, and language concerns as soon as they present themselves.

Physical and Occupational Therapy
We include therapists in our network who are specifically trained in helping children with Autism. Recent research has provided irrefutable evidence that both occupational and physical therapy can dramatically improve outcomes for individuals of all ages with Autism.

Speech and Language Therapy
Most children with Autism demonstrate issues with speech and verbal learning that can be successfully addressed with the proper treatment plan.

Behavioral Management
The principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) permeate all of our treatment modalities. Relying primarily on encouragement and positive reinforcement, we've found that difficult behaviors, as well as behavior deficits can be dramatically improved and replaced by more effective and appropriate behaviors.

Educational Support
We work proactively with your child from early on to improve his or her willingness and ability to achieve academically in school or through homeschooling. And we will continue to contribute as the child progresses with one-on-one tutoring. We are experts in IEP development and have excellent working relationships with many school districts.

Mental Health Services
Historically, mental health issues are often ignored when the primary diagnosis is Autism. At Butterfly Effects, we continually monitor for mental health services. We provide a wide range of therapy services for children, as well as parents and families of our clients.

Transitional and Life Skill Development
Our dedication to providing whole life services is especially well demonstrated in the way we prepare your child from day one to successfully navigate the world beyond school with as much independence as possible.

Respite Services
We encourage you take respite well before you become exhausted and will connect you with night nannies and respite providers who can enrich your child's life while allowing you needed downtime.

Parent Training
Your participation is critical to your child's development. We'll help you develop the teaching and intervention skills needed to successfully engage your child, as well as the clinical and legal understanding needed to monitor and direct your child's treatment plan.

Case Management
