ALERT everyone you know immediately. Tell neighbors, teachers, local police, and 911 that your child has begun engaging in elopement behavior. Give them the information they need to act immediately should your child elope. Inform them how to handle your child if found and whom to contact in case of an emergency. We also recommend carrying flyers with a picture and description of your child should they elope while in a parking lot or mall. This way people can act fast to help you locate your child.
