Common Questions

My child is on the autism spectrum and has recently begun wandering from home.  What do you recommend I do to protect him?

ALERT everyone you know immediately.  Tell neighbors, teachers, local police, and 911 that your child has begun engaging in elopement behavior.  Give them the information they need to act immediately should your child elope.  Inform them how to handle your child if found and whom to contact in case of an emergency.  We also recommend carrying flyers with a picture and description of your child should they elope while in a parking lot or mall.  This way people can act fast to help you locate your child.  Please note this information applies to anyone who’s child engages in elopement behavior.
