Sleeping in Own Bed
Updated on Wednesday, October 24, 2007
If having the whole family sleep in one bed is not your idea of a good night sleep or the toddler bed has now officially become your own, it may be time to make some changes to your family's bedtime routine. It always happens when you think you are in the clear, then you hear the door creek, "mommy," and finally another body crawling into bed with you. If you thought you were alone, trust us when we tell you are not. Every parent at some point has had to deal with the "I'm scared, I can't sleep, I'm thirsty, I'm sick" sleepy time saga.
Tackling bedtime issues can truly be a "nightmare." At 3 am when all are exhausted and their whimpering is tugging at your heart, the last thing you want to do is to listen to them protest and cry. Not to mention, if you have other children, the fear of waking up the rest of the house makes it near impossible to resist. Nonetheless, at 6 AM with a urine soaked bed, little sleep due to wiggle worm, and a now living with a complete and total loss of privacy - might just be enough to make anyone ready to take action.
